ABOUT TIME!

I'm curious, did you see the show Yakko?

Anyway, I can't say I'm surprised, but I enjoy a lot of the songs on the cast recording (including one that was cut and is GOREGOUS, "More to the Story"), and it's never a good time when any show closes (especially one with a large cast like Shrek).

I won't be surprised if it does very well on tour though. It seems like something that would fare better on the road.

Good point.
It's not my favorite, but I can't help but say I'm a little sad.

It was apparently professionally filmed, which is pretty cool. I don't think it is any worse than similar musicals - Wicked, Legally Blonde etc..

The biggest 'problem' is the movie is so good. If the musical was made without the movie, I think it would seem better.

My senior trip to NYC was supposed to see this. Oh well. Hopefully we see "Phantom" instead.

So adding "I'm a Believer" couldn't save it. Confused

I wonder if it made back its investment? Probably an expensive show to tour.

It was? Where/when will it be shown?

It definitely didn't make back its investment...I wonder if it made ANY of its investment back, considering the low grosses.

There is no information it..just that Cameras went in and recorded over two performance (One invite-only)<not sure if that one has occurred yet though. [Not for the Lincoln Archive]. The topics are on Broadwayworld.com

I'm not necessarily surprised. I got great tickets day-of back in March for an evening show, and the theatre was only about 70% full.

But although it wasn't the best piece of theatre, I was definitely entertained, and I enjoyed the cast recording. It's something I'll take my niece to see when the tour kicks off here, but not something I would choose to see for myself again.

Boo hoo!

Sad

Looks like I'll be making my next pilgrimage to NY sooner than originally anticipated...This was going to be my next show.

Does anyone know when the leads are leaving? Namely, Brian, Sutton and Kristopher? There was an article on Playbill saying when Brian was leaving but I've been unable to locate it or any similar article.
dolbinau

Brian is leaving very soon...November or something.
Brock07

Ok so I finally found that Brian is leaving November 8, but havn't been able to find any word on the others. Maybe they approached the other principles with the plans to close the show and negotiated to extend their contracts from November 8, rather than get new people for two months.

Still sad I won't be able to make it up to see him... Sad

I heard Foster was closing with the show..I haven't heard about Seiber but I'd imagine since we haven't heard anything else may he is staying with it too...
Lepitot

Awe, sad. Not surprised. But, I really hope I get to see it again before it closes! I guess my next shows will be Bye Bye Birdie and Shrek again!
Gwen

I heard Brian was leaving...I didn't know it would be a day before my birthday though! As I'm not planning on seeing it though, no worries.

I saw the whole original cast in December. It was amazing and I counted the many months till the recording came out. When it did, I was very happy. Though Seiber was better live.
