Show Suggestions?

At my high school we do a yearly musical. We have a few ideas but i wanted to see what other ideas people may have or which of our choices you like. We have a large female cast and only a small male cast ( me and a couple of other guys) We're not sure what we should or could do.

These are our choices so far. Any other suggestions would be appreciated =]
1-West Side Story but only if we get a choreographer
2-Seussical -(My personal choice)
3-Guys and dolls

I don't see West Side Story or Guys and Dolls working with as few guys as you say you have.

Yup! Cinderella has a lot of female roles... and Once Upon a Mattress.

What shows have you done recently and what kinds of people do you have available (grade, gender, voice part, type, etc.)?

EDIT: I was doing research for someone today and came up with this: http://www.pioneerdrama.com/searchdetail.asp?pc=POCAHONTAS&id=76
It's a musical version of Pocahontas (not the Disney one, sadly) and it sounds really good. 12 female roles, 6 male roles, and 3 either. Simple set and the music isn't half bad.

Wst Side Story and Guys and Dolls probabally won't work with such a small male cast. Cinderella is good, and so is Once Upon a Mattress...oh, and Once on this Island is a somewhat small cast, but you could always add more pesants or grand hommes.

What about "The Pajama Game"? I did this show several years ago and it does a good job of featuring the female chorus. You need one strong male lead, two supporting male (both very comedic) and maybe a couple more for the chorus. There are also two older male characters who do not sing or dance at all.

The thing with Once Upon a Mattress is that while you don't have to have a bonanza of guys, you have to have very talented guys.

Prince Dauntless must be a great actor and a decent singer.
Sir Harry must be a great singer, and a decent actor or his parts are BORING.
The King must be a fabulous actor.
The Wizard must be a good actor.
The Minstrel must be a good singer and decent actor.
The Jester must be a good actor, good singer, and great dancer.

The Jester is often played by a woman, though.

In all actuality, Guys outnumber women in Mattress. King, Dauntless, Harry, Minstrel, Wizard, Jester (6) vs Queen, Larkin, Winnifred (3)

But the Wizard and the Jester can be female. In my production, the Minstrel was female, too. I wouldn't reccomend it unless it's absolutely necessary.

I'd say Chicago since its mainly female roles... but its not really high school appropriate now is it?
