Should I move or recite lines .. Help

I am auditioning for Nancy in Oliver in Nov 06 for an amatuer society. I have ordered the lib as we will be required to use dialogue from the lib to audition and probably one of nancy's songs i.e as long as he needs me.

What I want to know is should you move when you audition and act like there is some one else there even when a person is just reading the script......or do you stand still recite the lines and try to get expression across in your face.

Is it better to do to much .. than not enough ? Help any opinions would be grateful Applause

Well, I personally would move around, and act like you're in the scene. I did that with 'Lost In Yonkers' when I read from the script and 'The Secret Garden' when I read from the script. Same with the song, too, I suggest you move around like you would in the scene...just not too much...LOL.

It depends... with "Oliver!" I would say stand still for the most part, but do feel free to react appropriately and if you're reading with other people, don't be afraid to interact. But to full-out act the scene with entrances and exits and such, that's not really necessary.
