The musical Candide can't seem to find a resting place. What do you think--is it better on Broadway or in an opera-house?

the revival they launced on broadway 6 years ago was perfection...and Jim Dale was the ultimate Pangloss

I think Candide could really find a home in either scenario. It just depends on who your cast is.

When I was a senior in college, this was our opera for the fall, however the roles of Candide and Cunegonde went to the musical theatre majors. It ended up combining the departments for that brief period.

And I agree...Jim Dale IS Pangloss. Loved it.
