Have any of you done a production that included the Shinn Family Ballet? Is it vital to the show?

Agreed, never heard of a "Shinn Family Ballet" being put into a production of Music Man. So to answer your question, no, it isn't vital to the show. It's probably just something your choreographer made up to showcase some good dancers that were cast as the members of the Shinn family.

It was a piece that Wilson wrote in an early draft, and then discarded. My high school didn't do it, and it's not in the vocal score I have.

So it isn't vital to the show. At all.
