Sesame Place auditions. So, I have an audition for Sesame Place on Jan. 8th. I'm auditioning for the role of "Jamie" in Big Bird's Beach Party, a show at the park. Here is the copy about the part:
"For singer auditions, prepare your best 16 bars of both a ballad and an up-tempo piece. cd/cassetteplayer will be provided (instrumental only) for singing auditions. The role of Jamie is a 17-25 y/o male (high bari) or female (mezzo)."
This is pretty good, because I'm 18, and a mezzo. I'm stuck on the songs though. BBBP has a really upbeat, happy sounding music to it, and I'm not...totally familiar with the happy stuff.
I'm a mezzo, as stated before, with a range from the E below middle C to a high C sharp. Any ideas? The casting people know I can belt well, too, so it'd be good to show that off again.
Any help would be REALLYYYY appreciated. I sang "What Is Urinetown?" and "I Know The Truth" last year. Needless to say, I didn't get the part.
Thanks a wholeeee lot.
