In the musical, Seasons of Love takes place at the beginning of the second act. It's about a year in the life of someone, and all the moments that add up to a year. It comes before Angel dies, so I think it can be interpreted to be about Angel and Collins, but I also find that I can interpret it to be about Roger and April.

Oh this is good..... what happens with angel and collins? the more story i can get behind it the better the performance will be.

Seasons of Love isn't actually about any one character. It's about people. How lives shouldn't be measured in length or experience, but the love you give and recieve while you are here. It is abstract in the show. The cast stands across the front of the stage, singing to the audience. It is set outside of the context of the story.

Usually a good idea, but Seasons of Love was moved in the movie to the beginning so that actually wouldn't help her with where it takes place in the musical. Anyway, you did ask about Collins and Angel so- Tom Collins meets Angel Dumott Schunard in the beginning of the show. They fall in love and are pretty much the emotionally stable couple of the show and are the happiest out of the three main couples. Then Angel dies and all hell breaks loose, Angel being the glue that holds the rest of the group together.

I couldn't have better summarized it!
I think that 'Seasons of Love' basically represents how their troubles have and will continue to strengthen them throughout the course of their last years on Earth. The lyrics basically say that whatever happens shapes them as human beings.
It has a beautiful message.

it's about looking back and remembering the love you had in your life, and about how time flies.
