SCRIPT

Where can I get a FREE script for Godspell
Robinflamingo

You can write for a perusal copy of the script, but you have to give it back. Or you could read the book of Matthew. It's at the beginning of the New Testament.

Why do you want a FREE copy? You still need to pay royalties to do the show, and part of that covers the scripts.

Laughing Laughing out loud seriously. Laughing

And if all of Matthew is too daunting a task, you could just skip to chapter 3 since there are no clever songs about the genealogy or birth of Jesus. (I guess Mr. Tebelak assumed you might have heard of this Jesus fellow).

Another suggestion, although not completely accurate to the stage version is to turn the DVD on with subtitles and transcribe them in short hand, then type them out at your convenience.

Or just buy "Spotlight on Godspell."

Where can that book be bought? I'm a collector of show-centric books, and I didn't find it on Amazon.

Well, it can be bought here.

Okay- a bit expensive. But cool.

Actually you can get free scripts off the internet at

I just cant seem to find one for godspell

Yeah. But that's illegal. Plus, all LMR has for "Godspell" is a lyric sheet. Your best bet is either buying "Spotlight on Godspell" (seriously, read the sample page at its website and you'll thank me) or getting a perusal script from MTI or Theatre Maximus.

PS: Spotlight on Godspell is an excellent resource. I've been using it extensively for my production, which shows in April.

But, it does not contain a full script - it refers to page numbers in the script, but a script is neccessary. It is not a replacement for the script, and indeed is useless without one.

actually there are a few scripts online, you just have to google it , if your just looking to read the script.
I've even printed it off. But to preform it is quite illegal...
