Scrapbooking

We just need a discussion on it.

My mother and sister are scrapaholics. So much, that I even like it and use thier tools for ALL of my school projects and now I want to scrapbook all my theatre stuff.

I decided that I wanted to scrapbook it all last summer and so far I've done 1 page. I just have no idea how to scrapbook shows, nor does my family.

Tell about your adventures in scrapbooking! Who loves a cricut machine? I do!

I tend to scrapbook shows the same way I scrapbook everything - chronologically.

From auditions to rehearsals to performances to parties Smile

I usually make the first page the formal cast photo and show logo so that it serves as a title page (or divider, in yearbook talk). I don't use really bumpy embellishments, but I use scads of stickers and words and tags and papers.

I try to let the show be the star, and most shows take several pages to do well. I put one artifact on each page, and photos on every page (ie. ticket, program, flyer, thank you notes). If the program is spectacular, I get several and take them apart and put each page on a page.

Also, if the show has anything "special" I try to include it. For instance, I put scraps of all the plaids we used in making the Brigadoon costcumes, a few of the "leaves" and "snowflakes" from The Fantasticks, the red "blood" ribbons from Godspell, etc.

I don't know if that helps, but that's what I do. Smile

It's mostly just trying to find a way to tell a story with the photos of the show that's my problem.

My one awesome page actually has no photos. I cut out trees out of black paper to look like our set and chalked them with orangish glitter and add the title INTO THE WOODS on the bottom and it looked great!

Robin, do you have a cricut machine?
Robinflamingo

Nope, I surely don't. I can't afford it.

But I have a scrapbooking store that has one Wink

Have you seen the paperdoll cricut? I think that one is fantastic! It's so cute and comes with so many things. I enjoy making little ones of myself from my various shows.

O/T, there was a pile of "water" in the wings from the Witchmelt in WoO, I scrapped some up and kept it in my shoe untill I got down into the dressing room, I've kept it in an ornament glass for two years, along with a feather from my "Oz Mum's" costume and the role of blue sticky tape we used as plasters for the Tough Kids. Embarassed I'm so obsessive.

I also kept my duster from Annie, along with the FBI message (I was Drake.)

Love it, actually, to tell you the truth, I'm printing out pictures that my mom and her friend scanned in so my mom can make another wedding album for my grandmother!!!
