So, I saw the show last night! I loved the show...

I have a few questions,
Where do show white and sleeping beauty come in? Our auditions list them as characters but I never saw any of them last night?

Also, I've read that there is a song between the witch? and Rapunzel? I think? They didn't do that, in fact, Rapunzel sang only a few ahhhhs. That was it.

I really thought Rapunzel was who I'd go for since I'm more of a singer than an actress. But, afte watching last night I think I'm more suited for the Bakers Wife or Cinderella.

I'm still debating audition song... Vanilla Ice Cream? Green Finch?? UGH!!!!!!!! It's driving me nuts!

Any thoughts?

Not all productions add the extra song "Our Little World". It will vary from production to production.

Yeah, I would have liked them to add that song in, I wonder what our theatre will do? My guess is yes we'll do it, but who knows.

BTW, I did hear the agony discussing snow white and sleeping beauty but we never saw them... do most productions actually show them?

Sometimes they come in for the finale, but that't it.

I'm confusesd though because last night the bakers wife seemed like the one whose role would suit me best... motherly, kind, yet very set in her mind.

Rapunzel was weird, almost freak like, which seemed like a hard role to act.

Cinderella... while I loved her songs! Seemed like another hard acting part... she came across as sweet, innocent, and pretty boring to be honet... while I was watching I was trying to think of ways she could be more interesting. I was stumped.

I also REALLY loved the witch, but she has much more acting than I think I could take on.

And it's interesting because I've read that most consider the bakers wife the lead... but she didn't come across that way. Maybe it was just her?

Don't say this is how the character is like based on how someone else portrayed them. Decide for yourself on what they are like based on what you know about them for the lines, the lyrics, etc. Those actresses obviously had different ideas about them than what you thought.

I also stress that actor is right. Really, if you want to understand the Baker's Wife, watch the dvd. Joanna Gleason captured the Baker's Wife flawlessly. The only one I have ever seen even compare to her was the BW in my own production.
