Rumblepurr on Cats Wiki

Anyone else seen this? It's an article on Rumblepurr on Carbucketty's Cats Wiki. http://cyber-tiger.com/wiki/index.php?title=Rumblepurr

And this is one on TJC: http://cyber-tiger.com/wiki/index.php?title=The_Jellicle_Chronicles

I'm just curious to see what you think about your article Rumblepurr. I think you're the first fan to have a page. And, also curious, what do you all think of fans having pages on Cats Wiki?

I don't know if I approve of "Cats fans" having wiki entries. However, as a major player in a creative community, with work that can be displayed and linked...I guess it makes sense for a "Cats author" to be in the wiki.
(And since when is Rumblepurr infamous? Famous, perhaps, but infamous?)

Aww, I think it's sweet. Congrats, Rumble. Wink

In One Word... "Wow?"

I am mildly surprised, a little bit humbled... and very honored to have not only one page but a second one as well.

I do have some explanations concerning TJC. The series began in August of 2000, roughly seven years ago. At that time, my knowledge of CATS was primarily from the video, and a little from developing friends. JEMIMA: If one notices in the credits, Jemima's name is spelled: "Jemmina". I inadvertently chose this spelling, and learned way too late (after several chapters) that it was wrong. QUAXO: On this big guy in TJC, I had always viewed Mistoffelees as the tuxedo kitten all through the show. Again, it was a long time before I realized that Quaxo and Misto are essentially the same character. But, I had seen the names listed, and was told Misto was Quaxo's alterego, sooooo... I wanted my Quaxo to be different - hence making him the "strong, silent type." At the start of year two, I introduced Scatterburr, and proceeded to develop this big guy as a character, and he became the bodyguard of Munkustrap and the wise martial arts character quite a few people have enjoyed... PLATO & ADMETUS: Now this pair is totally due to my ignorance of the show and particularly the video. The two adults in the video played by Bryn Walters and Frank Thomas were never identified as characters. However, they represented two adult males that Munkustrap relied upon as guardians... Hence, they became Quaxo and Brutus when I put TJC together. The two names here later came in as a paired male and as one of the first kittens...

When I started writing TJC, I knew I wanted to give the characters progression, especially from kitten to adult, and eventually into Elder age. I chose to keep some things canon while developing things that were a contrast to most settings. The "Triad" concept seems to have been essentially mine. In all, I wanted TJC to be "different" from the other fanfiction that were extant at the time. For the good or the bad, I succeeded ... more or less...

TJC also spun off ANCIENTS - a 31-chapter tale of the Jellicle colony in Ancient Egypt; The LOST Stories - a series of tales that were left out of TJC; THE 20th ANNIVERSARY TOUR - the ill-fated USA human cast of CATS; and HEATHROW HEAP, an uncompleted parallel series set behind a 1950's eatery near Heathrow Airport. And always in the background - the fact that all of this was based on Anna-Karin Larsson's "The Jellicle Tribes."

The data provided by the Wike articles can be found on my Website's biography (Rumblepurr's) page. I have since retired from calling square dances.

Interesting... Thank you pointing out the pages.

I don't think you need to explain anything Rumble. It sounded to me like whoever wrote it was just pointing out the differences, not blaiming you for them.

No problem, I was happy to see you'd gotten a page, and even more happy to have told you about it.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I think. On one hand, fans are an important part of the Cats community, so it seems appropriate that they should have pages. But on the other hand, then every Tom, Dick and Jane might want a page and heaven knows we don't need that. Hmm...
Rallers

I'm not so sure if the more prominent fans, like Rumblepurr, having a Wiki entry would be a bad thing. I guess I don't understand why everyone would want a page if some (like me) wouldn't have a lot to be written about in the first place when it comes to the Cats fandom or this community here.

I actually took the liberty to write a little something about me as well.

Wasn't there already a page for you? I thought I saw a link to it in Rumble's article. Eh, maybe it was an empty link. But anyway, someone must have planned to make a page for you. That counts as something, right?
Ahdeya

ever so delighted and humbled by it. Smile
