I'll explain the story first.

At the place where I work teaching English, we're planning to make a final festival in june.

I have a group of 6 students (however I think that one of them is leaving) and I have recently thinking of making them play The Rum Tum Tugger's song. As I told in one of the posts somewhere, they have recently watched Cats, understood it and loved it. but they don't know anything yet about the festival, so I guess that they'll have their own ideas about what to present. Mine will only be a proposal.

I have two boys and three girls. One of those boys suits perfectly to the role of Tugger, and he enjoyed a lot that song. The other boy is the one who's leaving (or not, I don't know yet), and I thought that he could be Quaxo/Mistoffelees. Then for the girls one would be Bombalurina, the other Rumpleteazer/Jemima/Electra (I don't know, because in case the boy leaves, I would make her act Quaxo/Mistoffelees) and the third girl would suit Etcetera.

The point of this is to make them sing in English, so I guess I would have to modify a bit who says what in order to make them all sing a piece of the song.

Is there anyone willing to show me/help me with the coreography for the girls and boy (or not) that will be Tugger's chorus? If you know by any chance any video that focus on the coreography for this song and be willing to help, I'd apreciate it a lot. I can't really follow their steps on the dvd because the camera focuses more on the actors than the coreo.

Im playing Bombalurina in my theatres production and also doing choreography - i can get some video's up on youtube which your more than welcome to take ideas from if that helps?

I don't know if this helps or not, but I think whoever you decide the other boy to be, he could be trying (and failing) to get the girls' attention through-out the song?

Bombateazer: thanx a lot, please tell me whenever you hang those vids on youtube and how to get to them. Will they be videos from the rehearsals or taken from the show?

Musical-geek: it's an interesting idea, maybe when Misto sings "The RTT is a terrible bore" at that moment I could make him do a bit of show off of himself, following your idea. The problem is that that boy is pretty shy... maybe he just wants to do the choreo and that'll be all...I don't know, what will happen when I tell the kids that they have to act...hehehe In fact they are all quite shy except the boy who would act Tugger (that's why I thought about that idea).
