rope?

in happy new year when Joanne says "technically your squatters, theres hope, but just in case rope!" what purpose does the rope serve?...i feel stupid for asking but i couldnt think of any reason they would need it

lol. that made me giggle. it's like - did you stop listening to Happy New Year, right at the word 'rope'??

no i listen to the whole thing i just dont get what they are tying to the bench for....i've been listening to it for years and i just sing right on through and never thought about it before...and dont seem to get it for some reason Embarassed

I've never seen the movie.... (or the musical, for that matter), but try watching the video if you haven't. I'm sure it explains it better by actually viewing what's going on...

Except that "Happy New Year" as a song is not in the movie. Or all the stuff about pulling down the door or whatever it is they do in the show.

i was just teasing. however, this is more reasons why the movie sucks compared to the live show. way too much cut out.

"We can hoist a line-"
"To the fire escape-"
"And tie off at that bench!"

Mark and Joanne are planning to use the rope to climb up to the fire escape and get into the loft that way.
