Rocky Horror Picture Show

My friends and I are totally obsessed with it! we can't go through 10 minutes of our lives without doing the timewarp! Very Happy

really? i'll look into it. I also just heard that there is now a spin-off of the Rocky Horror Picture Show that should be GREAT! that's exactly what the world needs Laughing

i say if you're gonna go for a stage recording of the show, check out the original Rocky cast album, from 1974 - pre-film. it has Tim Curry, Jamie Donnelly, and Meat Loaf. the songs have a different sound from the film - very 70s - and it's great to hear some of the different performers and the enhanced music they did just for that album. plus, IMO, Meat Loaf is a far better Eddie/Dr. Scott than lea delaria - ew.

or, if you really want a unique one, check out the 1973 original london cast album of the first-ever cast. it has all the original cast, save for Belinda Sinclair wasnt the original Janet. it is fun to listen to how the show was at it's beginnings - this one features Tim Curry, Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, and Lil' Nell in their original roles. and, yes, that is Pat Quinn singing Science Fiction, not Lil' Nell. also, if you know Absolutely Fabulous, Edina's gay ex-husband (actor Christopher Malcolm) originated the role of Brad.

quick note, too - both these albums feature "Sweet Transvestite" before "Time Warp", as originally scripted in the stage show.

i could go on for days (weeks?) about Rocky Horror, so PM me if you've any questions. Im usually pretty good with this show. Mr. Green

This sounds like Shock Treatment which was dire.
Lazarwolf2007

We are staging an amazing production of Rocky in a couple of weeks in New York's Hudson Valley (Poughkeepsie, about an hours drive north of NYC). The cast and pit are unbelievable.

We open 10/19. Tickets are only $18 and $13.

If you're in the area check us out: http://www.TrinityPlayersNY.org

he doesnt have a ton of stuff out there. Shock Treatment was the so-called sequal to Rocky Horror, but to me, it's more of a spin-off. from the RHPS, they had

Jeremy Newsome - Ralf
Charles Gray - the Criminologist
Richard O'Brien - Riff-Raff
Patricia Quinn - Magenta
Little Nell - Columbia

and, Brad and Janet are new actors - Jessica Harper was Janet. Barry (Dame Edna) Humphries plays Bert Schnick.

Theres also an album out called Absolute O'Brien. well, hell, just check out the Richard O'Brien crusade!

I'm totally obsessed too! Smile

I've never had the privelege of seeing it performed live but I live for the movie lol.

I went as Magenta for my Sweet Sixteen Cosutme Party.

It's kinda sad that it's not very school appropriate b/c my director constantly tells me "YOU'D BE THE PERFECT MAGENTA! BUT DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT US DOING THAT SHOW! NO WAY!" haha
