I am just curious as to whether anyone knows whether a cast album will be recorded for ROAD SHOW? I've already seen it 3 times and really love some of the songs, so it would be great to have a recording! Do you think they'd only make one if the show went to Broadway? I personally think it would be a shame not to have a concrete memory of this show, especially considering how much I disliked the other versions/casts of this much-improved musical.

I don't think it necessarily needs to go to Broadway to be recorded; has there been a Sondheim revival: Broadway, Off-Broadway or otherwise in recent times that hasn't been recorded?

I think we may see one just because it's Sondheim, but like the Bounce recording whether it is warranted to be recorded is another issue .

If they are planning a Broadway transfer any time in the near future then they will wait to record until then so it can be the Original Broadway Cast Recording. Otherwise, I imagine there will be a recording of the Original Off-Broadway Cast.
