Rizzo Questions...is she a soprano or alto? probally a stupid question but in the movie she sounds like a high alto - mezzo soprano and i can sing the songs she sings in the movie (im an alto). but ive heard that in the stage production the songs are actually written alot higher than what it sounds like in the movie. sorry im not familiar with the stage production of it. THANKS!
oh and another question... if you could rewrite the play what voice part would you put Rizzo at?

With Rizzo it dosen't really matter as long as she isn't a screeching soprano.
The only song that requires vocal talent is "There are Worse Things I Could Do" and even that is very basic.
Overall though, I'd say she is a high alto or at least a low mezzo.

Rizzo is deffenatly an alto! I'm a soprano with really good range and I can't sing her songs!
As for the second question: I would leave her as an alto. That possiton in the vocal range sutes the characters personality. To me at least

well, the music that we had for rizzo was really low, and I'm and easy 1st soprano!

i think pish123c is right that rizzo can be easily a sopano or alto ,but you can't have a sweet voice to be ably to play her. also rizzo i think is a little jazzy.
