REVIVALthere is going to be a revival of A Chorus Line for the 206/2007 seasoni think some leads and director have been chosen but other than that not much info out there wouldn't it be cool if for some reason Spamalot either closed(which i dont think it will do for a while) or moved theatres(which again probably won't happen) so A Chorus Line can have its home back (Shubert Theatre) where it was for 15 years(?) |

I like ACL. . but as a broadway show.
The movie was a horrid recreation. If that's what you base your opinion on. . then you are definitely missing out on what this show has to offer. Sm**chies! Jacob. |

I'm seeing the pre-broadway run in SF next week..so I think it's like totally cast, unless they're going to change it b4 it hits Broadway..I
'm so excited..I have only seen the music but I listen to the CD religously and it is my dream "dance" show..I adore it..super excited to see the stage version |

I bought my tickets for when it opens on Broadway, and I'm incredibly excited. Cassie is one of my dream roles, and I know Charlotte d'Ambroise will be fantastic.

The show has great songs, but is REALLY boring.

Boring? I'm amazed that so many theater people think so! If ACL is boring, than what is Oaklahoma, My Fair Lady, Funny Girl and Meet Me in St. Louis? |

Not so much boring as totally mediocre and unimaginative. I mean except for 1-song, the rest of the score is a snooze. Not even that stupid "One."
I mean what's so exciting about an audition? For God's sakes, that's what you put on when there isn't a paying audience. But when you charge, please put on a REAL show with a plot, scenery, costumes and a decent score. The movie was certainly better over this mediocre stage version. |

I am not a fan of the show either..but its because of the score.
the show is not unimaginative..in fact its rather unique. however the most interestingt hing about the show are the actors monolouges.the score is medicocre at best. (only Dance 10,at the ballet and I can Do That are any good). so..i'll be skipping ACL on broadway..been there..seen it..was unimpressed. |

a stripped down/backstage musical with great musical numbers and interesting characters that connect with audience.. songs like "nothing" ..which show the inner workings of someones personality and struggle for understanding.. I'm sad to see that people have forgotten musicals for being about dance and song... not like Cats.. which is absolutley overrated. The last 20 years of musicals have moved into the "spectacle" era... and people expect it...sad This show is classic i'm glad its back.. cant wait for another new york trip in march.
btw don't get me wrong I like my Wicked, Phantom, Lion King.. but you need to open your ears to all the musicals that don't require people on levitating platforms or crashing chandeliers! |

I can't believe how many people are bashing it! I mean, how can you call this show "boring" or "unimiginative". I bet half of the people complaining about the show have just seen the movie. And I personally think saying things about how horrible and awful with nothing at least slightly positive just makes you look bad. I mean, how can you consider yourself a true theater person if you can't appreciate that it is a form of art and that different people prefer different shows. I mean it would at least seem professional to say at least something good about it you liked, even something like "The dancers were talented" or "The song One really stood out, but it's not one of my favorites". If you really hate it that much, you haven't seen a truely bad show. I mean it won a Tony award for best musical!

just wanted to say i just got back from the broadway revival of ACL and it was dynamite.
especially amazing performances given by heather parcells as judy, and the girls who play maggie and diana. very very well done. an extraordinary cast of talented performers for sure. there were a few moments that i didn't care for, and 'what i did for love' is always kind of a yawner for me, but the rest of the show was high enery and entertaining. it was definitely worth the money for the ticket. afterwards i went backsage and everyone was just as nice as they were talented - a truly commendable group. go see it if you can...it trainslates SO much better onstage. if all you have seen is the movie, you're missing out. ~Cat |

i too, hate chorus line...i consider it part of the horrible Cs: Chicago, Chorus Line, and Cats
| crluvalotbear |
chicago is an aaaaaaamazing show. it's fabulous.
and a chorus line is so fabulous-- choreography, score, everything. cats...well...cats has...songs in it i think your new horrible C's should be cats, chitty chitty bang bang, and carrie the musical....a much better list, in my opinion |

I hate Cats and A Chorus Line, but why Chicago? It's got everything! Drama, comedy, great dancing, one great song after another, eye candy... |
