Revival CD vrs. OBC

Hey,

I feel incrediably awkward in here because I'm not that familar with "A Chorus Line." I do know, however, that my dad is getting me an Itunes gift certificate for Valentine's day and that I plan on using it to purchase a recording of A Chorus Line. The problem is, both revival and OBC are available on Itunes for the same exact price.

Which should I get? I'm tempted to get the original, because its the original and I'm also tempted to get the revival because the color on the cover is pretty. Mr. Green Which one should I get?

Get the original!!
It's soooo amazing

I was in the show and I personally like the revival cast recording better. However, they did cut some parts out of it that are in the original that I love.
crluvalotbear

ooo what gets cut in the revival?
i was almost certain things were cut, but then someone on this website said the revival was a literal carbon copy of the original-- same costumes, choreography, script, and score.

Yeah, the revival is pretty much exactly like the original but they cut some parts out of the montage (not in the show, just on the CD...yes, I know that's weird) such as Judy's section about her sister and mother. Also, I like the bonus song "And" on the revival CD as well.

don't get a cd because "the color on the cover is so pretty."

i personally enjoy both cast albums for different reasons, but i'd take the OBC anyday.

I was listening to the OBC, and I thought I liked the revival was more lively when I saw it...but I don't have the CD so I can't compare the two.

That's weird. I just listened to the a copy of the revival CD, and the Montage seemed to be complete (even including some portions cut from the original CD, plus "Nothing" was restored to its proper position). And "...And..." wasn't on the disc at all.

Is it possible that there are two versions of the revival CD?

Definitely the OBC

i like the revival CD...*shrug*

I think the orchestra is much better on the original. Also to clear up the confusion "and" is only available if you download the revival from "Rhapsody".

Judy's section about her sister and her mother ("And that's why I shaved her head, I'm glad I shaved her head"/"It was the furthest thing from my mind, to be a dancer, but my mother would embarrass me so...") is very much on the revival CD.

Judy's section is on the track of the Montage that includes "Nothing". Because this part of the song is part of the montage they probably put it in there to it would feel less like "Nothing" was by itself again.
