ResumeI just auditioned for Once Upon a Mattress, and got in. Rehearsals don't begin till mid-January, and it doesn't perform until March. However, I have to send in resumes with my applications to two school that are both due January 1st. Should I put OuaM on my resume, or leave it off? I don't have all that much that's all that recent on my resume, just to let you know. I think there are 7 on there without it, dating back five years.

I'd put it on. You are in it, so why not? Just maybe note that it is an upcoming thing.

Yea, put it on there... you're technically in the show. I do it all the time when I get into a show... I don't think it would be considered cheating or anything.

Yes.
I've left roles on my resume which didn't go to performance as the show was cancelled.

Of course. If you want to, go ahead and put "January 2006" on there in parentheses. That's okay to do.

For real? I've just taken a show off my resume because the show was cancelled, and it was one hell of a role and it shows off the variety of my abilities... maybe I should put it back on...

Yep. I had gone quite a significant way through the rehearsal process. I had learned the majority of things one would learn from playing that role. Which is the reason one puts non-pro credits on a resume.
If the role was pro, or with a company which has significant reputation attached, it would be a bit of a different situation.
But I would put it back on. Especially if you rehearsed for it for any significant amount of time.

I'd put a role on if I were cast in it, even if rehearsals hadn't started yet.
However, I would take it off if it didn't actually go to performances. I include the month and year of any show I list on my resume; if it's in the future and I've been cast, the director & co. will realize that it hasn't been performed yet.
But if it gets canceled, I'd take it off. If I leave it on there, people might not know why it was there and might think I was lying to puff up my resume. For example, I was cast as Jafar in a production of Aladdin, which was later canceled due to Katrina. So I think I put it down on a resume or two between the time I got the role and the time it was canceled, but I wouldn't list it now (and besides, I played the role in a different production of Aladdin, so it doesn't matter much any way).

put (in progress) after the show title.
I hand pen that in if i'm not yet in rehearsel, officially type it in once we go into rehearsel, then remove the (in progress) opening night.

I would put shows that I haven't even been in yet.
What's a good resume if you don't like at least a little?
