Reprise of Close Every Door in the Palladium revival

I once attended Joseph when it toured through Singapore in 1998. What surprised me was that Joseph actually reprised Close Every Door at the end of the show, just before the Megamix. It strikes me as a little grauitious, but I presume that this was done to serve as an encore. It seems not to fit into the mood of the finale, which has ended on a note of optimism with the finale of Any Dream Will Do. Do any of you remember whether the stage production that toured the US included this reprise?

That's SO weird! It's such a depressing song to end the show with... Confused

And I'm the crazy one for thinking that the show is best in its simplest form.
