It better come to Holland....at least two, if not more, of my friends and I love RENT.
wicked_boy

YAY!!!
ConverseSneaker

Shocked
Trevor reincarnate

I'm looking forward to this day.

It will be dead at the theatres and I won't have to bother with anybody that day.

Thank God everybody hates Rent! (other than Renthead theatre fans... which are a small minority of the population of movie-goers as a whole.
Mungojerrie_rt

What is a 'Renthead' other than somebody who likes the show?

Well, technically speaking, Rentheads are the people who camped out in the line-up for tickets back in the 90's when it first opened. At least, they were the first. I guess anyone who likes the show can call themselves a Renthead. But it's annoying when everyone's like "omg u cant b a RENThead b/c u didnt c it on bway. lyk totes" because it's not an official thing or anything like that.

Anyways, any word on a DVD release of the taping?

Yah. Any word? I doubt it'll come here... DAMN JOO RURAL NEVADA!!!!!
ConverseSneaker

I find it ironic now that I am going to see Rent that they've decided to tape the last show.

I'm happy, but it is ironic.
Lepitot

I'd prefer they just release it on DVD :-X
What Is This Feeling?

Yeh, this sounds neat. I heard about it from Broadway.com a few weeks back. Jon, don't sweat it, they probably will sooner or later.

What.
kozafluitmusique

this isn't fair! i want to see this Sad sigh.
wicked_boy

Any chance this will be released in the UK?
Mazz

I do hope so, I'm one of the younger people who got to see the show and now everyone around me(they're all 2 or 3 years younger) only knows the movie, and think that's all there is, and that makes me sad.
what_the_heck013

That's really cool! I hope this becomes a regular thing.
Mazz

Last nights of shows being filmed and broadcast? Yeah, it'd be cool. Maybe there could be a whole digital channel dedicated to them. If it's ok to screen operas(and yes I know the copyright's different because the composers are mostly long dead) it shouldn't be that much more difficult to put musicals on television.
zombiefl12

I find it beautifully ironic that I am going to New York, was going to see Rent, but I'm going a few weeks after it closes....the Wednesday - Sunday September 24 - 28....when Rent is in theaters :/
Vice

GAH! It's playing in my town! (YAY.)

I was afraid I'd have to drive to Sac. like I had to when I saw NBC3D...
jackissensational

Apostrophe.
ConverseSneaker

UGH! I just had nightmare that I woke up and it was the first day of school and for some reason I had a broken leg and had to walk on cruches. The day was so bad, that I skipped the second day and went to see Rent in theatres. It was even worse than school. That scared me.
Mazz

Can't be, it'll be the real show.
-Dave-

Well, I live in Australia and (as far as I know, correct me if Im wrong) the last show isn't being beamed over into our cinemas. What do you think the chances are that a *cough cough* not so legal version of it would be created? Not that I'm condoning not so legal actions, however, do you reckon a pirated vid would be made of it?

Alternatively (and on a more legal note), do you reckon it will eventually be put onto buy-able DVD format?
Mazz

I think that, considering that the show is closing, they'd be daft not to. Especially as it'd recoup more of the cost of broadcast.
Yakko

In my state I think there just showing the 2005 movie and if so I WILL be pissed! I hope it comes out on Blu-Ray......
MarcoG

it's gotta come out on DVD!
Yakko

It better be!
elphieponine
