Rent Live?Hey, i have tickets to see Rent in Boston. but yesterday someone told me that they think it is not the show, only people going up to the microphone and singing songs. Is this true? am i going to be dissapointed, or is it the actual show?

I've never heard of just Rent being performed by a single person... You should go see it anyway, Rent is amazing on stage... the movie is all right... but it's better on stage.

Agreed. It is a very fun show to watch. Lots of energy. There is something that the live version has that the musical lost.
Perhaps the production near you is just a concert version...

That's not what they were talking about. Whoever is messing with them is giving the impression that the Rent tour is a sort of "Rent in Concert" production.

I was just saying that I've basically never heard of Rent in Concert before. I'm sorry if I added that bit about it being sung by a single person, that's not what I meant intetionally.

The only way Rent could be any more of a concert would be if they took away the sets and costumes. It's practically a concert as it is, ignoring the storyline for a moment.

The OBC is doing a "10th Anniversary Benifit Concert" latter this month. So apparently it is possible to turn it into a concert.
