Red Hair Cast Member?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knew a cast member with red hair? Pretty vibrant colored. I know nothing else about her other than she was in Wicked. I am just looking for a picture, and mainly the color of her hair. Any other details would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Where?
natattack

Couldn't tell you.

My instructor wants me to dye my hair red like one of the Wicked cast members. We are a drum and bugle corp playing music from Wicked this summer, and I'm a colorguard performer. Trying to find some pics Laughing

Well, Jennifer Laura Thompson (Broadway's second Glinda) is redhead.

All the ensemble wear wigs onstage, several of them are shades of red/auburn. Take any shade of red you want, you'll be able to pass it off as accurate to someone or other!

The only current Wicked cast member with naturally vibrant red hair is Kerry Washington in Wicked London Very Happy

Just found this pic:

How does a Red-headed Glinda work? Isn't she constantly referred to as blonde?

Not constantly. Only once.
PappyCat

How would that line be changed?

It can't. Or, rather, there has never been reason to change it.

JLT had a blonde wig.

I don't know how it would work with a red headed Galinda as she is referred to as blonde three times in the show. But I don't think this girl played Galinda or this picture was actually part of a production. I dunno.
PappyCat

I guess She'd have to wear a wig.

It may not work in Wicked context, but it sure works if you're trying to tie it into the original Wizard Of Oz, though. Laughing (Never understood why she was made blonde when it is specifically said she's a redhead in the original books...other than for the blonde jokes, of course.)
Baker

The picture of the redheaded Glinda popped up about the time that Joey McGuire and Jennifer Laura Thompson joined the Broadway cast, so it was believed to be a promotional picture, just without the blonde wig. Looking at it now, it doesn't really look like either of them, in my opinion.
wickedboy

I'm fairly sure that's JLT, yet why would they take promotional photos for Wicked without full costume and hair? I mean, all the Galindas wear wigs, of course, although Kristin may not have in some scenes during her stint, or at least it looks like she might not have, although I don't know. I just find it really strange they would take promo photos without the full costuming... that would be like taking photos of Elphaba without green skin...
PappyCat

Probably not a promotional picture, maybe they wanted to see how it looked with the costume, (and no wig or makeup) and took a picture. It's not the highest quality picture.

There is a girl in the London production of wicked with bright red hair.

I *Think* it's Nikki Griffiths.

She is gorgeous though Very Happy And she looks AMAZING with red hair....

There is a person in London who is slightly larger size than the rest of the ensemble, I think it is her natural red hair. I can't remeber her name.

Nicky does wear a red wig because she is the Witch's mother.

Yes, that is who I mentioned earlier. Kerry Washinton.

And Nicky wears a bright red wig in the shiz scenes, not as the Witches Mother. She wears a ginger wig as the Witches Mother.
Angel-of-Music*

for her being referred to as blonde it could be changed to "strawberry blonde" which would sound silly but hey, its a better match to the line than saying ginger.
Belle

When Cassidy Janson was in Tick, Tick... Boom! a lyric mentioning "Soft blonde hair"... was altered to "Soft red hair" as she has dark auburn hair. It scans just fine.

That would totally ruin the line in "What is this Feeling" though.
Angel-of-Music*

thats the line i was thinking of when i said it, it would be lot more blunt of elphaba, and probaby raise more of a laugh to say ginger in that song.
PappyCat

I don't think saying "Ginger" would get any laugh. Strawberry Blonde certainly wouldn't, either.

Blonde just has certain connotations that other hair colors don't, and that's why it's funny.

I was using red / ginger as the same colour, if you know what I mean.
Angel-of-Music*

well, i think ginger would get a laugh. seeing as how topical it is at the minute.
Wicked_Wonders

I dont think it would be the same though. Blonde is funnier. The whole Glinda character is the stereotypical 'Blonde' character. Well for the whole first Act anyway. If she were ginger it just wouldn't work or suit her character.

Agreed. Someone mentioned tick...tick...BOOM! - in that line, he's just describing her, so the change of line works. But it's a blonde joke in Wicked.
