I took in one of our Cincinnati Ballet dancers after she had spent 25 years of her life dancing.......in Companies on 3 continents around the world.....and gave her a job in my office. All she had ever known was Dance. She knew how to do little else. VERY little else! So when she left our Ballet......with no skills or training to do ANYTHING 'beyond ballet', but dance, one of the Ballet folk called me and asked if I could find her a little work to do. I did. But clearly, as she worked in my office, she longed for doing more of what she did best.....being on stage-dancing!

So.....as I've tried to do with many of you out there over the years.....I egged her on towards good career choices....through work and school and 'making things HAPPEN' and NOT just by 'coasting' through life....ALWAYS following the advice of mentors and parents and a few of us ADULT farts.....and always trying to "network" through contacts....in a genuine effort to meet people and let them know JUST WHAT YA GOT!!!

Well after pointing out the many opportunities of 'Stage and Dance' work, other than Ballet.....she finally auditioned for a part in a musical....she NEVER thought she would get.......and......GOT IT!!!!!

My part-time receptionist is NOW being trained by Gillian Lynne(who ADORES HER) and ALW and company for the NEW planned The Phantom of The Opera, to be semi-permanently playing Las Vegas in a venue being built just for them!!!!

Just how cool IS THAT????

Kid Im planning to venture out to Las Vegas when Phantom opens out there. Any chance we could get some news as to when the dates for the show's opening will be there? And she's got a chorus ballet part? Sweet! That's awesome. If you are going out there to take in a few performances of Phantom let me know ok, and I'll plan accordingly!

I'm hoping to see the Las Vegas production, as well. I'm very anxious about seeing the real on-stage lake! ^_^
