Truthfully, I think that almost all of Sondheim's scores are brilliant and I don't necessarily think that most of the ones near the bottom are bad, just not as brilliant as the ones at the top.

Ranking the shows in terms of their scores is a little different from ranking them as shows overall. So I've ranked according to score, with what the placing would be for the show overall in brackets after each title. The ranking per show is, in this list, a more subjective take on the shows than on the scores. For example, if I was ranking the shows as objectively as the scores, Assassins wouldn't rank so high up. I'm not going to rank Road Show or Saturday Night as I don't feel I know them well enough to place them within a list like this.

It saddens me that A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is so low on everyone's lists...I think it's fabulous. Oh, and I forgot to list Merrily the first time around...gnaygh!
