mine, is by the guillotine, because if you think about it, it must be quite painless

really, in history class we were talking about different death penalties in different countries and different times in history and our teacher said that this was the most humane because by the time the pain reached your brain you'd be dead. How can the pain reach your brain to cause you to feel it, if you dead?

The thought of my feeling my heart slowly giving up terrifies me. An ideal way to go would be feeling extremely sleepy and passing out peacefully and pain-free.

I know for a fact that that is no how I want to die because when beheading by guilotine was popular the blade was not sharp enough and when the beheaded Marie Antoinette the blade did not chop her head off completely and had to try two more times. Can you even imagine the pain you would be in while they are saying it didn't work lets try again! no thank you!
Me I would like to die by chocolate overdose!

Well if your brain was in your head and your head wasn't connected to your body, then how would you process the pain? You'd have no brain to tell you that you're in pain.

Your brain is still connected to the neck (at least down to the point of where it was chopped off). I'd also be afraid of it confusing my brain, giving me a massive sense of "phantom body syndrome".

And that's assuming they used a dull blade to cause more pain. But if it's razor sharp and it does completely slice off the head, then in theory you wouldn't feel anything because you wouldn't have a brain to tell your body to hurt. It really is all in your head, isn't it?

i have often wondered this question actually. strangely enough i would actually say cancer. at least you know whats happening to you, and you can actually say goodbye to the world and to everyone. i would hate to have a heart attack or some such thing, because you would be gone in a bit and then bam, you wouldn't of been able to say goodbye!
i don't like thinking about this though.
AND.. when almost everybody dies, doesn't their body kind of.. let go?
as in you're bowel lets go and you .. erm.. take a giant dump? eh!?!
and that is why i don't want to die lying next to a loved one. pretty off for them

How will you know you're in pain,your brain wont get the message from the nerves.Unless you're saying that your head will be alive for a couple more minutes with whatever blood and air that it has pumping around, and the brain will be getting the last moment messages, gioving you crazy pain.

My brother told me (with out me asking him) that he wants to die by being suck out of a space ship and into the sun, and burn alive. A la the movie Sunshine, the captain's death.
