Quick Question - The Pinball WizardI'm not familiar with the movie or stage version. Is Elton John's character in the stage version? How big of a part is it?

I know he sings Pinball Wizard in the film... Does he do anything beside that?
Cousin Kevin sings Pinball Wizard in the stage musical. It's quite a large part... I think it's a tie between him, uncle Ernie and Captain Walker.

After shooting "Pinball Wizard," Elton left the film. He was only in the film for that scene. Same as Tina Turner, Eric Clapton and the other cameo roles.

In the actual play it's sung by Cousin Kevin, but in my high school production we still kept in the Pinball Wizard (I suppose in an attempt to create more noteworthy roles for the cast.)
Luckily we did, too, cuz that's who I played!

On a side note, I don't get why Elton's character is always refered to as "The Pinball Wizard", he isn't Tommy is. Elton is simply singing a song about Tommy.

His character, according to the actual script, IS indeed known as "The Pinball Wizard," or alternately, "The Champ." Tommy's duel with him is for the title of Pinball Wizard.
