Questions

I was just casted about 4 minutes ago in the Sound of Music as a nun, much to my surprise, seeing that I auditioned for one of the daughters. I'm not an expert on the musical so I was wondering what the nuns do and what songs they are in. And how much different the musical is from the movie.

Congratulations!
The Nun's sing a lot throughout the piece
They sing:
Mono Chant
Morning Hymn
Alleluia
These three are right in a row and are the first thing that is sung in the play
Then if you are one of the main nun you will end up singing:
Maria
Then you have:
Nun's Processional
If your director decides to the wedding scene then you will also have to sing:
Change of Scene (Gaudeamus Domino)
Processional
Canticle (Confitemini Domino)
Then at the end the Nun's sing:
Finale Ultimo: Climb Ev'ry Mountain
The majority of the Nun's music is sung accapella which is absolutly beautiful.
I hope that this helps
Break a leg
Timmy_Wishes he was Quast

i remember a production i saw where the nuns did alot of hilariously funny cross overs between scenes. But of course this is dependent upon the direction.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to having something to do this summer and I can't wait to see what this new director will do.

They also sing between the Party and Climb Ev'ry Mountain.
