I'm auditioning for this show soon, and am auditioning for Anybodys.

What dances is Anybodys in? Also what songs does she sing in?

And one more thing! If any of you have been to an audition for WSS where they had auditions for Anybodys, what scene(s) do they usually have you read, or did they have you read?

Any tips on the character would be greatly appreciated too!

Is Anybodys the chick who hangs out with the guys?

Yes, Anybodys is the girl who hangs with the Jets. We had Anybodys candidates do the scene where she comes to tell Riff (or maybe all the jets?) about Tony and Maria. Man, it's been awhile, my memory is failing me. I'm getting the scenes confused, but she's pestering the Jets to let her be in the gang. We also did the non-verbal scene where she helps Tony run away after killing Bernardo.

We had an excellent dancer for Anybodys, so we used her extensively in the Somewhere ballet, but I don't know if that's the norm. She was also in the dance at the gym.

in the version i was in, we actually didn't have her dance or sing at all which i think was quite a shame. She probably should have been worked into 'Cool' where she could have done both. They would probably have you read the scene where Anybodys tells the Jets about Chino trying to kill Tony.

I'm fairly certain that scene is in the movie, but do you know if it is pretty similar or written the same in the stage version?

I am pretty sure that the character is supposed to dance the lead in the first section of the ballet. At least she did in recent productions.

In the last production I saw--and I have no idea if this was intended by the writers of the script or not--Anybodys was blatantly a lesbian. They had her in extra scenes so they could make a point of that. It made her part bigger and it was SO HILARIOUS! Again, I'm not sure if she's supposed to be, but done correctly that can be extremely funny.

I just got cast as Anybody's! I'm so excited for this role! I just hope out director allows me to dance a lot because I have been dancing for 10 years and it would be a shame if I didn' t get to use my skills. Anyone have any tips?
