Question

In a couple weeks, I am auditioning for the six plays this semester at school, plus Little Women at school, and Big River at the theatre where I did Ragtime. The Big River auditions are technically the 12th, and I won't be back in the state until the 16th, so they said they will arrange a special audition for me. However, I know that I can't do Big River unless I don't get cast in one of the school shows. Technically, we are not allowed to audition for anything out of school unless we've cleared it with the head of the dept. and are not cast in anything at school.

The problem is that I may find out about the Big River results (and definitely the callbacks) before the results from school are posted. Should I tell the Big River theatre this now, once I get called back, or only if I get cast?

And while we're at it, right now I am planning on using I See a River from Urinetown and a monologue from Tennessee William's Summer and Smoke for Big River, and Fable (if I can find a place to do a min-long cut!) for Little Women. Any opinions?

Tell them now. No use in surprising them.
