Question...In the book, it says that at the end of "Don't Feed the Plants," a bunch of vines fall from the ceiling (sp?) onto the audience? Did you attempt, or pull this off in your production? How did it work/go?

Bump.
People, it says 48 of you have read it. Been nice and answer. Say something, please!

The "vine rigging" is one of those well-intentioned, but rarely-staged bits of business that are left in scripts as a suggestion. Much like few productions of Tommy are equipped with an exploding pinball table or flying motorcycle.

We didn't have it... however, our largest version of Audrey II was put on a crane at the end, which then extended up and out. Our stage is fairly deep, so it still wasn't in the audience, but it gave the illusion of coming toward them.

i saw a professional (not b'way tour) production in high school and they did it - i thought it was wonderful! vines were coming out of the windows of the buildings and a big drape or something fell and hung over the house. it's great and Im hoping they do it in the production Im auditioning for this sunday.

My college just did it and they had vines fall from the ceiling and suspend above the audience.

We, high school production, tried to, but we ditched the idea. It didn't work for us.
