Question on lyricsIn the Johanna reprise between Anthony, Sweeney, and the Beggar Woman, are the words "city on fire" or "set it on fire"? I could swear it was "city," but my sister looked up lyrics on the internet (which are occasionally wrong) and she insists it says "set it."

I am 90% certain that it is city.

It is, without question, "city on fire."

I am 100% sure it's city. I have published libretto and vocal score and that's what it says the lyric is.

If that was the case, then later you'd have "Great black rain falling on the set it on fire!"
Which would make even less sense...
