Question about the Complete WorksOkay, are there any random trivia expert, followed-this-show-from-the-start people here?
In the Complete Works, Alive and Alive Reprise are on the same track, and between them is a section where Hyde apparently sees Lucy. Now, there is another track where Lucy meets Hyde, so this is probably not their first meeting. Within this part, when he says "Your folly will cost you dear, my dear", what is he referring to?
Do Alive and Alive Reprise happen in succession, originally?

*Deep breath* Okay...Here I go...I've seen the show live, and I have quite a few recordings so I'll try to answer this...
In the original plotline, Lucy becomes frightened and runs away soon after "Lucy Meets Hyde". When Hyde says "Your folly will cost you, etc...", he is referring to her attempt to escape from him.
They do happen in succession, in a sense, but not really...Hyde doesn't kill the Bishop in the original version of the sequence, it's just an extension of the whole song "Alive". But when it came to stage, they needed a song for Hyde's first killing, so they cut off part of "Alive" and got "Alive (Reprise)".

In our show..."Your folly will cost you dear, my dear" meant her falling into his hands would cost her. He knew he was going to do something horrible to her.
