Those are awesome! You were Ali Hakim, I've always wanted to play that part...so badly. I think I've been in Bye Bye Birdie at Mags with you a few years ago... And I think I know Jud too...weird. Sorry, anyways, great pictures.

A.) Why thank you for the compliments!
B.) I was, in fact, in Bye Bye Birdie at Mags... small world, eh?
C.) The fellow that plays jud (Steven) is the same actor that was pictured in the collection of stills posted a while back
D.) This is closing night for our show. 3 pm, $5, Near West Theater in Ohio City. Come if you get a chance!

Ha! I just found out that I'm going to see it today! Stevie (That's what everyone calls him) was Jud in the production I was in as well. I can't wait to see it, it looks great. Break-a-leg!

Hey! I enjoyed the show, for the second time. This is Adrienne, (Steve's (Jud) girlfriend) by the way. You guys put on a great show.

I liked the show a lot. I just wish Near West had a bigger stage. It was cramped at times. Not the fault of anyone's though. Of course that can be remedied with the new theatre if people wanted to donate.

Wow, I got chills watching this show, it was awesome! I was in awe! The set was so good, as well as the costumes, and the actors were phenomenal. I think Jud was the best, and you were hysterical. Great job!
It was really hot in there, and the seat were uncomforatble. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Thanks for the props. I'm happy you enjoyed it!
Yeah, the theater itself is in pretty bad shape. Thank God that, after almost 30 years, they finally have the funding to build their new theater... with proper seating... and air conditioning... But I'll still miss the old one... the heat/uncomfort is half the experience, lol!

costumes and sets are amazing..however they were very obviously copied from the trevor nunn production.

You mean the London revival? I suppose...
Only things we really used from that version were Laurey's overalls and lots and lots of corn... moving corn....
Characters were really nothing like that version at all...
My take on Ali was actually Persian... not from Brooklyn... The Ali in the revival disgusted me...
But yeah, I believe that our production was similar to the revival, but certainly not copied. Many of the moments portrayed in our show were original, and costumes were period inspired, not just off of a certain production. Our director took several liberties on his own based off of his own vision, not that of another directors. He did, I admit, use the revival as in inspiration and a tool to work off of, because it was so successful and well done.

yes thats what i meant..but alot of the costumes looked very similar to the revival.
Il ove performing Oklahoma..its been one of my favorites..I did it twice in a three year period.
I lovet h Trevor Nunn revial except for Ali. Josephina was one of the most brilliant Laurey's ive ever seen.

I saw this show back in May at the Playhouse for the 1st time and it was absolutely amazing! This was the most amazing and professional TEEN production i've ever seen, and i thought it was just as good as the professional touring version. I'm not saying that cuz i know some of u either. Unfortunatly i had to quit to work b4 school started, but i already told Bob i am clearing my schedule for NWT Summer Show next year!!

Your pictures are fabulous. Is this college theatre? high school theatre? community theatre? My community theatre may be doing this, and I just hope our production is as good or better.

It's a community theater. Every summer they perform a teen production, and this summer's show was Oklahoma!. Teens ages 13-19 are allowed to participate in this production, and this year we had a cast of about 40. The theater has been going strong for a good 30 years or so, and holds a respectable name that is well known all over downtown Cleveland/the Greater Cleveland area.

I know I haven't posted in this blog in FOREVER... but...
I'm very excited...
We're doing our yearly benifit for the theater at Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland, and I the cast of this show is going to be reunited to recreate several scenes/songs from our production.
I simply can't WAIT!!!
I miss this show SO much... We just finished Godspell. You can check out a ton of production pictures in the Godspell forum!

It's OBVIIOUS you guys has some seriously good actors--the facials are EXCELLENT
However
-I didn't like Ado and Laurie's costumes choice...and I read that you took it from the London revival-but-I don't know...I played Laurie as this pretty girl with this INNER strength, and with overalls, it makes her seem more apt to do farmwork all day long...it also makes it more difficult to understand why Judd would go for her (she is really pretty though).
Also, I come from a school where our sets are truly out of this world, and I know that not everyone is able to build the sets we do, but I'm used to our sets, so I would just say "maybe get a better set"...
we actually had a whole house for Laurie/Aunt Eller's house...it was crazy
annnnnyyyyywayyyy, like I said, all the actors look phenomenal...it really looks like you guys had a great deal of fun with it!
=D

Thank you for the compliments! But I must say... those pics do our set/stage NO justice. The look was fantastic... one of my favorite sets I've ever worked on!
And yes, Laurie is VERY pretty isn't she? lol
But here's those benifit pictures I spoke of. The revivals of Oklahoma!, Sweet Charity, and Godspell at the State Theater, which is part of Playhouse Square in Cleveland Ohio. An absolutely BEAUTIFUL professional theater... it was such a thrill!
The opener introducing our theater...
"Rhythm of Life" from Sweet Charity...
"Farmer and the Cowman" from Oklahoma! (There I am... only pale white and shorter hair)
Oklahoma! finale...

"Bless the Lord/Proud Mary" from Godspell...
Core Apostles around Jesus from Godspell...
"All Good Gifts" from Godspell...

Wow, this production looks pretty amazing. We did Oklahoma a couple of years ago. I love your costumes, my mom costumes our shows, so I've been around that kind of thing for a while and those were very impressive.!!
