Problem! Please, could someone help? ~Annie Auditions~

Alright, musical.net! I really need your help now! See, my local theatre is going to do Annie for their fall show. I REALLY want to audition, but I have two problems.

a) My mom doesn't want me to audition because she says that it could interefere with school. This isn't a big problem, but I still need A LITTLE help with it. I just don't think homework would affect my rehearsals much. I mean, I wouldn't mind doing my homework while I'm not on stage.

b) This is the big mama of my problems! If I do audition for Annie, I'm not quite sure what part I would get. I can sing "Tomorrow" beautifully, but I really don't look right to play Annie. I'm look like I'm fourteen even though I'm two years younger, and I'm 5' 4". Did I mention this was a Jr. production?

So...got any ideas that might help me a bit?

What will the oldest age be? 14? 16? 18? You could possibly play Hannigan. Or Lily. But I think Lily is a soprano. I know for sure that Grace is. But if there is an older girl, she may get a bigger part just because she's older.

You're 12, right? Some of the older orphans are GREAT roles. Tessie and July have major solos in "Never Fully Dressed" and all the orpans have solos scattered about "Hard Knock Life".

Hmm...Miss Hannigan, eh? Cool Well, I could probably play her if I got the part...I have a wide range...and I would enjoy playing her...Especially with my personality.

But alas! I am a First, Lyric Soprano...surprisingly. I'm just a very mature preteen.

In other news, I forgot about the older orphans. I saw Annie last year at a local theatre (It's really popular down where I live), yet I don't remember much from it...Except the little gymnast girl who played the dog...So. Many. Backhand. Springs. But I'll take into consideration the older orphan roles. That might be enough to encourage my mom to let me audition. Pray

...Geez...I wish I was shorter, so I could play Annie... Crying or Very sad Rolling Eyes
