Preparing for Into the Woods (high school) auditionAlrighty. Our school's spring musical is "Into the Woods," and auditions are on the tenth of January. Problem is, the audition procedure is to run scenes and sing two preselected songs from the show (from a packet). And... the packet won't be handed out until the seventh. o_O
I have the cast recording, full script; not sheet music, though; and the OBC DVD. Just, hah, not the silly packet. I don't know what I should be working on to prepare. I'm very familiar with the characters, songs, etc., but I want to do all I can now so those three days after receiving the packet won't be as stressful.
It will include three or four scenes, plus the following song "types" :
- 1 "chorus" number that everyone must sing, no choice in the matter
- 2 or 3 female solos
- 2 male solos
Any predictions for what might be in it? Or, more importantly, just tips on being as ready as possible for this audition? Thanks a bunch in advance.

the OBC is different to the real thing!
watch the dvd as much as possible! carry your audition pack around with you and look thru it at any chance you get!
btw, make sure you briefly know all the solos in the show for girls (i know things know, red's version of into the woods, steps of the palace, lament, last midnight, moments in the woods... etcetcetcetc...)
good luck!
