Poster Design ContestSo my school every year does a poster design contest for the musical. Since ITW is our show this year, I thought I'd show you the two I have in my mind and see which you like more. The first is just a logo. The idea is to have the rest of the poster black with splashes of red and gold: Poster Design #1 Here's the second idea. It would be a lot bigger (obviously) and I would fix the proportion of the Baker's Wife to the other girls, because right now she's a little smaller than she should be. Poster Design #2 Both have their pros and cons. I like the first because it hints at the fairy tales, while still maintaining the dark aspect of the show. But I like the second because it's got the cow, the slipper, the cape, and the hair and suggests a bit more of the plot, with the giant's foot and all. What do you think? Be honest. |

I like the first one significantly better.

I really like both, but I'd have to go with the first one. For the same reasons you do, it has the fairy tale element, but still gives the show a dark aspect to it.

Also, if anyone's interested:
Close-up of Baker's Wife and Milky White Close-up of Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Little Red (although this has been edited somewhat since, because Rapunzel looks better than this) |

I really like the second one. I think it's missing something though...Maybe you could have the top of a tree coming out of the 'I' on "Into..."? Just a suggestion. Nice job on both, though. The first is just a tad too dark looking for my taste. |

the second one is Much better

Nice. I really like the way that the characters are shaped very geometrically. |

Definitely the first one. There's too much white space in the second, but the first is very eyecatching.
| Baker |
Most of that white space will be filled up with information (prices, dates, I know I have to include Sondheim and Lapine's names, etc.) Thanks for all the compliments, everybody. I'm still not sure which I'll go with, but your opinions are great to hear! |

Are you able to submit more than one poster?
If you can...Go for it! Both are good enough to get an equal shot IMO. |

There's different things I like about each(for example you have an awesome Milky-White!), but I pick the first. It's amazing with the fairy-tale element and the creepiness about it. |

I prefer the second one, as the first one has too much stuff going on. I also agree with the poster above about the tree.

I liked the first one better...I think it really emphasizes the dark part of the musical so that people who have never seen or heard of the show don't just think it's about a bunch of fairy tale characters...but after remembering that you will need to put on the rest of the information i think the second one will look much better...I also think it's a little more eyecatching- but I agree you should maybe add to it a little by including some trees or maybe vines around the letters...
They are both really wicked though. |
