Post a Clip Thread

ALoneWanderer's songs gave me an idea. It's been a while since we've had a thread to share clips of ourselves singing and we probably all have a few new things by now.

Feedback is good, but keep it positive.
ALoneWanderer

Just incase someones missed my other threads...here are two clips of me singing and playing guitar.

I've told you this before TJ: your voice is AMAZING! One of the best I've ever heard on here. You can seriously play Valjean. You have that sound. Impressive!

Hmm... mine's all choppy for some reason... anyone got any ideas why?

Yes, but why is mine all choppy? Someone help me put it right?
olly

Trevor, that was excellent!

I'm downloading Music of The Night

And, TJ, do I have to say any more?
Wink
Quique

I agree Trevor, that was great.

Gayboy, yours doesn't skip. You just have to let it load first by pressing pause, then play it and it'll play fine. I enjoyed your voice. And what speech defect? You sound great! Smile

Hey, you sir have my favorite voice on here (well, you and TJ, hehe).Like I've told you before, you have a really attractive vocal quality. Many people can sing but few have what it takes to keep people listening. There's a nice rich sound to your lower notes and you handle the higher ones great. Nice pop sound. Congrats!
Amber

Amber sings "Kiss Of The Spider Woman".

I saw Chita Rivera's show. I'm on a kick right now.

Note: Please turn down your speakers a bit near the end of the song, because I get a little too into it.

Your voice is so mature for your age.
I love it. Except my computer is slow and every few seconds it would pause.

We're about the same age, right?
And my voice is so lame compared to yours.
It might be just because my voice is higher?
Amber

^ Thanks!

I think you have to wait for it to load all the way before you listen to it, because when I listened to it on the site it's hosted on, it skipped until I let it just load up.

I'm seventeen, so I think we're like, the same age. I'm sure your voice isn't lame at all! I'm actually first a soprano, but I've been really getting into singing lower and lower stuff 'cause it's fun and kinda new for me.

I'm almost sixteen. Kind of.

Your lower stuff sounds so good.
When I try to sing anything below like a B I sound like a dying whale or something.

There isn't a person on this board without a beautiful voice. Sad I'm all alone in that regard.
ALoneWanderer

Hehe, this song is hysterical. A friend recommended I learn this song, so I took a look and thought it wasnt too hard. I transposed it out of the girls key cause it doesn't really fit a guys (or at least my) voice. I think it's a pretty chill but hysterical song.

Lemme know what you think.

Again, me on guitar and singing.

Edit: Oh and thanks quique, your kind words are appriciated. I'll keep recording as long as you keep giving me feedback Razz .

I just wanted to share with everyone that although anyone with knowledge of the Daleks from Doctor Who would realise that they are an allegory for the Nazis, my remote control Dalek doesn't like Seikhs:

I have listened to TJ's voice before though, and it seriously rocks my socks off. My fave is Gethsemane- so passionate!
Salome

how would i put a sound/video clip from a video tape on line?
Amber

I don't know how to get a clip on the computer from a video tape, but I can help ya from the point where you get the thing on the computer.

If you have the clips on the computer already, then this is what I do. Go to http://www.putfile.com and create an account. It's free and you can basically put as much stuff as you want on there. There'll be directions on how to upload a clip (audio OR video can be hosted) and just follow the steps. Once it's uploaded (shouldn't take too long), it'll give you the URL to post here or wherever else you want.

It's easy.
what_the_heck013

From a videoTAPE? What's a video--TAPE? hehe. I actually have no idea. You may have to get the video converted to a DVD (they have people who do that) and then... you can put the DVD online...
Salome

how od i put the dvd on line though? through the cd drive?

Salome wrote:

I'm so low-tech, but this has worked for me before. I played it on my TV (as big of a screen as you have is probably best) and shot the video with my digital camera. I was actually surprised at how well it worked. It's a little grainy but certainly clear enough to see it. I have one of those clips online if you'd like to see how it turned out for me.

I don't know if there's a better way that you can just do at home. I have a friend who does a lot of digital video editing stuff, and when I asked him to put a DVD online for me he didn't even have the equipment for it.
what_the_heck013

I guess. I think you have to dl a DVD ripper.
OzHair

Okay, some RENT stuff.

Here's "I'll Cover You Reprise" in mp3 format

www.caliburnproductions.com/ICYRep.mp3

For those with faster connections, here's the video version. Warning, the file is 14Mb.

www.caliburnproductions.com/CoverYouRep.MP4

And another video. This one's for Santa Fe. I can't find the mp3 version at the moment. This file is 22Mb.

www.caliburnproductions.com/SantaFe.MP4

Enjoy Smile

And yes, I know I'm playing a white Tom Collins, and yes, I know the staging looks like no version of Rent you've seen on the pro stage. Razz

Cheers
Pat
Tj@themusicals

I really love the reprise Pat, great stuff! I'd love to play that part one day Smile

My god. There are some very talented people here! Man, I've been meaning to record myself for so long, but I don't have a decent mic and the crappy one that came with my computer is, yeah, crappy. Confused

If I can find something to use to record, I'll surely post a clip. I'm not afraid of you people! Hehe. Though I'm warning you, it'll have to be "Happily Ever After" (from OUAM) or "Always a Bridesmaid" (from I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change), seeing as those are the only backing tracks I have that I like at all. Lol. Very Happy

Yay, Nora! Me want Nora! Me want Nora!

Sorry, I got off babysitting a little while ago. I'm in the toddler state of mind still Razz

But seriously, you are all majorly talented. As soon as we get our new Mac (!!!!!!!!!!) at the end of this month, I will try and record something. I've been meaning to. Or, I'll just put stuff from my reel on YouTube. Smile

Kudos to everyone!

From My Fair Lady. I was Mrs. Pearce, not Eliza. If you are the one percent of the world not familiar with the show, I'm the grey-haired one in the boring dress that sings for a few lines at the beginning. I might put a better clip of me singing solo on later, but that depends on me actual being able to get one.

Here's a ckecklist of stuff you need to successfully transfer analog video into your computer (digital video).

1. Either a mini DV camcorder with firewire output AND analog video input or a DVD recorder (with, of course, blank recordable DVD's).

2. Firewire Cable.

3. Firewire inputs on your computer.

4. Advanced video editing software (I can recommend some if you'd like).

Alternatively, you can send me a video cassette via snail mail of anything you might want to post and I can do it for you.
