Politically correct on your audition form?

Our community theatre has audition forms with a spot to list what roles you are interested in. Godspell auditions are coming up and I really want Sonia but will honestly take anything the musical director thinks I can sing well.

Also, what is a good monologue to do for a GOdspell audition?

How does this have anything to do with political correctness?

TVAW is right...your question is not clear.

I'm going to guess that you want to know how to put the part that you want, yet say that you would be interested in any part on your audition form.

I would say that you can list the part then say, "but will be open to accepting any part".

I guess my Q is how to note that that is the part I really want without making it seem like that is the only part I will accept, or coming across as a diva.

Maybe political correctness is the wrong term, but whats the right way to note it, as I said above, without coming across as a diva or whatnot.

I would say, "(Role), but will be open to accepting any part"

Nobody takes that as being a diva...

^ I agre with Jazzy. It's completely ok to list specific roles that you are interested in. It is a very common practice. So, I wouldn't worry about seeming like a diva!

This is actually very good, especially in school shows or shows where they aren't used to good/experienced people.

For Fiddler On The Roof in our school, I put down at the bottom 'I would like to be considered for the part of Hodel, but am definitely open to any part.'

Now, being a 6th grader I didn't expect anything. 6th graders are barely in chorus at our school... but sure enough, I got called back, and then chosen for Hodel.

Later in the show our director told the class my story, and was saying that I was chosen 50% on talent, but the other half because I was prepared and knew the show!

I would list "anything" and then sing 16 bars that are so low that one obviously thinks of Sonia.

Funny thing... the director HATES 16 bar auditions. He makes you sing until either A) you're done or B) he cuts you off (usually if someone goes into the repeat or whatever in a song.)
