This is a musical from a guy who went to my highschool.
One of my friends originated the role of Peak at the highschool performance associated with Flaming House of Cards. This is a remix of the opening song-
It's not my friend, Stephen, it's someone else. Unfortunatley, they never made an original cast recording. I really like this song- I loved it from the first moment I heard it.

I'm only saying this because you asked. Personally I don't like songs that have exposition in them. That's just me. The recording is over produced and the music sounds a little too much like Wicked.
However, it does show a lot of promise. I write musicals as well and your friend who I'm assuming is much younger than me has a bigger bag of tricks. I'd be interested to hear what his music sounds like when he finds his own voice. Most of us when we start out copy our heroes. It takes awhile if at all to make something that is truely our own. I hope your friend finds it.

I've never seen Wicked, and don't plan to.
...And my friend didn't write this, he was in it.
He played Peak, the main character. It's not him singing either, it's someone else.
There are more songs, one called Twisted Roots that's very different from these two songs in a way...I'll see if I can find it.
