PLEASE PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! ADO ANNIE AUDITION THURSDAY!!!Fans of MDN might recognize me for posting this earlier--that I have an Oklahoma! audition coming up and that I'm going out for the role of Ado Annie. For those of you who haven't been paying attention, this a community theatre performance (church, actually) and I have a really good shot.
I'm 17 years old, around 5'5", and my vocal range is from basically as low as you can get to about a high D (belting).
The only problem is, I have absolutely NO IDEA what I'm going to sing. Honestly, I DID have something picked out (Always True to You in My Fashion from Kiss Me, Kate) but since my sworn enemy and archnemesis already happened to sing it at early auditions (curse you, fate), I have to choose something else.
So, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And ASAP if you don't mind. I still have to learn the song and memorize it and everything. PLEASE help...

What about "Cock-Eyed Optimist" from South Pacific? Its a little more up-tempo than "All ways true to you..", but since it its R+H, the style is similar to the songs you find in Oklahoma. It contains the same themes that you find in "I'm just a girl who can't say know."
It starts out "when the sky is a bright canary yellow...I forget every cloud I've ever seen, so they call me a cock-eyed optimist, immature and incurably green"
I found it in a mezzo-belter book, so it should be in your range.
Good Luck at your audition!
