Please help

Hello! Thanks for clicking on this thread! Okay, so I need some help. I have an audition coming up in about 2 and ½ months, for revenue of Hairspray, directed by my drama teacher who is v. biased towards favorites (I’m not one of them). Money is tight around my house, so as much as I want to I can’t take voice lessons. I’ve been told I have plenty of raw talent (not to brag) and I’m in the select choir at my school. I need a song to sing that would be easy enough to do without proper training. I’m a soprano to mezzo soprano and I’m 13 years old, so I need something age-appropriate to sing. Thanks a lot!

I'd really appreciate it if someone would answer my question
JIJane

I suggest you sing a 60's song, maybe something by Brenda Lee.
mezzo_soprano

^ Listen to her, she knows what she is talking about.

She defenitely does. Or something by Leslie Gore. One of her songs, "You Don't Own Me," was played in Hairspray, the non-musical version. It should show off your mezzo. "It's My Party" might suffice. Maybe some Dee Dee Sharp? But I agree with JIJane as well. Those are just my suggestions.
