Here is a video clip. Considering it's regional, it looks pretty good plus they brought in a few 'ringers' to shore up the talent.

Jacob Brent is reprising his role as Misto, although he doesn't look that impressive in the video clip.

I recognize the name Dee Hoty, as Grizabella. Hoty played the lead in Mamma Mia!. Although she didn't seem that impressive in the clip either. She is a good singer but I'm not sure if "Memory" suits her voice. But I only heard a portion of it and one reviewer says Hoty nails it so I'll go along with that.

I don't recognize the name but Ken Prymus is reprising the role of Old Deut and from the video clip, yeah, he definitely looks like he knows what he is doing! Shocked

Kevin Loreque is Tugger. Can't tell much from the clip but I'm getting the impression from all the shows I've seen that Tugger is probably the hardest role to cast. With so many performers being gay, if the actor is unable to "turn off" his gayness, in my opinion anyway, the portrayl of Tugger just doesn't seem right unless he comes across as heterosexual.

Richard Stafford did the direction and choreography and he was its dance supervisor on Broadway, so they brought in a lot of experience.

But hey, they even have the tire lift and staircase to boot! Costumes are pretty good. Music sounds good and dancing looks good. I wish I could see it. Sad

The CLO always puts on GREAT shows...many Broadway worthy productions.

They have a lot of well known regulars in the group(Edmund Lynsdeck)...plus a lot of people have put in time there...Shirly Jones and Jeff Goldbloom have been recent actors there.

Little known fact:

More theatre tickets are sold in Pittsburgh yearly than all the sporting events COMBINED. That's Steelers, Penguins, AND Pirates!

Ken Prymus was the last Old Duet on Broadway...he's amazing! I even got a CATS coloring book signed by him!

That production seems of a very good quality. I love Grizabella's voice !

Looks like a good production. I'd love to see Jacob Brent as Mistophelees, even if I'm not the biggest JB or Misto fan in the world. I really liked the cute, playful quality he bought to Misto and it would be nice to see him live.

It's nice to see these regional productions of Cats doing good things with the material.

As for Tugger, I kind of like him ambiguous. I mean he HAS to have chemistry with the girls, but I think he's fun when he's flirty in general. Maybe that's just the horrendous fangirl in me talking though Wink

In case anyone is still interested the first and last videos here are about the Pittsburgh production of CATS.

The first one interviews Dee Hoty and Ken Prymus. The second one is by a local reviewer.

They are using the Fullerton Civic Light Opera costumes. Its nice to see my Munkus and Victoria warmers up close again. And my tails too.

It seems that set is going to be rented out NOW AND FOREVER! Heh!
