Pirelli

What clothing articles would I need to make a revival [Donna Lynne Champlain] version Pirelli costume? Complete with blood-stained jacket.
MzGalinda

And if anyone has photos of Pirelli from the revival, that'd be great.

A white man's dress shirt, black pants and tie, white lab coat, red dye, and a blak top hat.
MzGalinda

Thanks! Is the tie a bow tie or a straight tie?
what_the_heck013

straight tie.

Pirelli's on the far right.

Neat. I'll post photos soon if you guys want to see them...I have a lot of things I got yesterday...I have the top hat, shirt, pants, and shoes...all I need now is the bloody lab coat, the Pirelli name tag, pocket watch, and the tie.

Photos to come!

May I ask what this is for..?

Halloween!

I look forward to seeing your costume. I suggest if anyone else will be recreating any Sweeney-wear, that they post them here as well. Sounds like some seasonal fun. By the by, I work at a haunted hause, guess who I'll be...
MzGalinda

Oh, NICE, Tycho...are you shaving your head for it? Yeah, I'm going all out...getting a pocket watch, a name tag that says "A. Pirelli." I'm very excited. If anyone has any ideas for me, please post them here!
TychoBrahe

If you're going for revival Pirelli, it sounds like your set. And I'm keeping my hair. I like the classic Sweeney do, and will either flair out the sides or tidily part it down the middle.

I'm going to be Mrs. Lovett after she's been shoved into the oven. It should be pretty gruesome. Smile I have an apron and I'll put my hair in the Lansbury devil horns, and probably try and make a bunch of fake burns. I'm so excited!

I DEMAND PICTURES.

Meehee. Now.

I made an act two revival based Mrs. Lovett costume a while back...It might earn another wearing on Halloween if I don't finish my Toby in time.

It took me SO LONG to sew all those letters on...

The shoes are squisheh.

I'd lost my top hat, so I used this one.

I love the apron. It's so pretty...And on the little dish rag thing, it says "N.L.", but I nabbed this picture through the mirror, so...yeah.

Note the pie on the sleeve. Very Happy

Okay, I'm done hijacking your thread, Zammy. Toodles.

It's so interesting that people are choosing to do revival costumes over the original when the original production was more visually driven (as far as sets and costumes) than the revival.
Kaiana

It's easier to get revival costumes together because the stuff is more modern.

Yeah, 'tis what I figured.

I'll see if I can find an old picture to show ^^x but in the meantime -- it's funny what_the_heck013 should mention it....

I was original Mrs. Lovett for Halloween last year -- not perfect, exactly, but I picked out an old skirt, paired it with a rather worn shirt and made the apron myself (modeled after the original, of course). I *loved* putting my hair up like hers too ^^x

Downside: No one but my directors knew who I was *sigh*
WastedxOpportunity

I'm working on an original Toby costume for this Halloween. So far I've only got the shirt done, but the pants and coat are on their respective ways...

I am oh so very proud. Very Happy

I'm going to be Nellie Lovett for Halloween...maybe,someday i'll be Pirelli.
Anyway,i'm using a yellowy-white blouse with ruffles down the sides and buttoned down the front...something at Rave.Over the shirt,i'm wearing this lavender t-shirt-shaped sweater. As for the skirt, mom's been going for something black and long.I say i should wear a peasent skirt.
I'm going for original, not revival...however,i'm not going to twist my hair around into horns..i'm still thinking about it.
