Pirelli and BeadleHey guys I'm new here, and I might be auditioning for Sweeney Todd soon, and I've never seen it, and have yet to get my hands on the cast album or dvd, so would anyone like to inform me and tell me a little about the roles Pirelli and Beadle?
Any information such as vocal range, songs, and any sort of acting notes, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanksss

These are some pretty strong tenor parts; Beadle Bamford specifically goes into countertenor I believe. Both are great parts, but they get unfortunately short changed. Bamford can easily just blend in to background unless he is played well (and very slimey). Pirelli is offed well into the first act, which is too bad becaused he's so much fun. He does get a lot of gusto for his short time, though.
Bamford: hypocrite, very Dickensian, would deny Oliver Twist's request for more
Pirelli: Italian stereotype, gaudy mountebank, hukster, sheister, sham, show off, very operatic, "nice plump frame" (think Pavoratti), actually Irish, younger than Todd
