Pictures of my production!

As some of you know, I'm currently in a community theatre production of Cats which is opening this weekend. I thought you guys might enjoy some photos, I may add more later when I take them with my camera.

Thanx for posting!

Bomba looks great! But that Griz shot reminded me more of the Crow than the Journey to the Heaviside Layer.

That could be an interesting new take on the "new jellicle life"... Grizabella doesn't truly die. She comes back as a 'Crow', doomed to walk forever amongst the living until she can solve the great wrong that was done to her.

Looks great!
I'm not a huge fan of the lighting, but overall looks awesome.

Lovely pics! And you're totally right, that Bomba makeup is amazing! I LOVE the eyeshadow... Some of the nicest costumes I've seen for a while!

I'm in this production, I thought I would explain Grizabella's entrance to the Heavyside Layer. We've changed the setting to Gus's theatre, which is why there's the giant vanity, the black boxes, the ladder, the red chair, etc. The red chair (which, actually, you can't see in any of these pictures) serves as Old D's throne. There are two giant steel doors in the back that are supposed to be "stage doors" and when Griz goes to enter the Layer, they open up, bubbling over with fog and white lights... and Griz is silhouetted as she enters. It's actually really cool.

Those are excellent costumes and everyone looks like they are great performers! My community theater could never pull that off....I'm the only dancer they have. Razz
Tigress

Those are wonderful, thank you for shareing. Let us know how it goes!
Vice

It's wonderful to see the 'Heavyside Door'! I'm thinking of using that in my upcoming production, and I honestly LOVE the imaage of it!

I really like the set, and especially the door to the Heaviside layer. It's an alternative to the flying tire that actually works pretty well.
The costumes and make-up are nice too!

Heh. So would she tapdance away whilst gangster cats are firing craploads of ammo from automatic weapons at her? Twisted Evil

I'm more interested in the change of makeup and costume she'd have to go through. *imagines Grizabella dressed up as The Crow, complete with duct-tape*

Not duct-tape, but you get the idea.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! We opened this weekend with a bang, selling over 1,100 tickets opening night and 900 tickets at todays matinee. Hopefully we'll sell out next weekend (our theatre holds roughly 1400) by word of mouth. Its such a fun show, I feel so blessed to be a part of it.

You are entirely correct, and I love them. The unitards up close just look like someone scribbled all over them with a sharpie, but on stage they really look fantastic and they're not too hot at all. Actually, it was quite chilly on Sunday so we were thankful for the nice legwarmers.
