Pictures of Canoga Park High's production

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to share some pictures of our successful and hilarious show at my high school. I play Seymour but I was also the plant manager that spent rehearsal time fixing the plants.

Here's the article: http://www.canogaparkhs.org/apps/news/show_news.jsp?REC_ID=59817&id=0&rn=291239

Our Principal guest appeared and came in a wig as a customer when the shop was closed and got eaten by the plant. Then she came again as my long last mother who saw how famous I was on tv and asked for money so i told her it was in the plant.

Here's the pictures: http://canogaparkhs.org/apps/album/index.jsp?dir=29544&backLink=&backTitle=&rn=298841

Our puppets were built and designed by Michael Earl 5 years ago. He played Big Bird's wooley mammoth friend, Mr. Snuffleupagus on Sesame Street. My friend Nicole who played Ronette (She's the one with the red lips) added some more color to them.

The article basically said you portrayed the characters the same way as previous famous productions. Makes it seem like niegther (sp?) the writer or the actors were aware that this isn't considered a good thing. Weeeird.
Colonel_Pickering

Oh, I don't mind, I like how we portrayed the trademarks of the characters Surprised

Ooooookay...

"The actors channeled the most notable characteristics present in the original cast of the 1986 Little Shop of Horrors film and 1982 musical..."

It basically said the actors played the characters the same way the casts of the original and film did. The audience isn't paying to see their interpretation, they're paying to see your interpretation.

I'm not trying to be a butt; it was just... bothering me.
Colonel_Pickering

Hehe, that article was written by a student, she wasn't even born to see the 1982 stage version Smile so what she's written can't make any sense. But as for interpretation, we got our inspiration, ideas, and characters from the guys in the movie but we put loads of our own touch to it.

I can say i was no way like rick moranis's Seymour other then him saying ewww and oh my gosh a lot

Besides, the article says most notable characteristics not full portrayal.

I'm not admitting defeat.
I just don't argue with people who aren't capable.
Therefore,

"Whatever..."
Colonel_Pickering

You don't have too admit defeat because you are right. I'm gonna ask the author to change that piece of info because like I said, how can she compare it to the 1982 musical when she wasn't even born yet?

Jack, I know your sensational but just enjoy the pics. I worked real hard on getting the plants to function and after portraying Seymour a bunch of times, I've got the cuts and bruises for a storytime because of all the falling scenes.
