Pictures from our Show of CATSHello, I just finished a production of CATS almost a month ago, and it was an amazing production...the best I've ever been in. This was a Summer Musical Program, so high school kids from many area high schools worked on this. There was a cast of about 83, including children. Our team of directors worked very hard to make our show have its own feel, so the audience would have a fresh concept of the show. Our 'CATS" was set in a construction site...scaffolding weaving down into the audience, large pipes, beams, and fencing. Because we had such a large cast, most of the parts that are double cast were not. However, the part of Munkustrap was split in half, which ended up working very well. Here's some pictures from the show: http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k39/Candleshoe_2006/ |

Nice! Those warmers are so very...fuzzy. It makes me want to snuggle them or something. |

Yes, the warmers were very fuzzy... and very hot! But, keep in mind that the costumes were designed to be seen from further back. So, some of them look a little funky up close in the photographs but from the audience's perspective, they looked much better! |

nice oh, say, I mean, I knew my Munku-nuttyness would one day send me nuts, but am I seeing double? or is it just the secret wish of a Munk fan to have two Munks in a show, one per each eye? *g* no, I see two gray tabbies. okay, one is more the inversion of tabby but then again I have seen both thick stripe and light shade Munks already in shows. greets Aky |

I'm not sure why but the directors cast two people as Munkustrap and split the role in half. Maybe they were split in choosing the part and liked them both? I'm not sure, but in the end it worked greatly! For example, both Munkustraps doubled as Growltiger. One sang the Italian Aria and the other sang the other part and they worked that in cleverly (I won't go into all that)! |

Nice pictures! How did you guys do the wigs?
| candleshoe07 |
Lots and lots of teasing! A local costume store provided about 60 wigs for the cast of 85! And the director spent a lot of her free time before rehearsals teasing wigs. They also had a professional wig designer come in and design some of the principal character's wigs such as Rum Tum Tugger and Jennyanydots. |

Those are really awesome thank you for sharing your pictures.

Only costumes I liked were the Victoria and Tugger. They were nearly spot on to the official version.
Who on earth decided to use *puppets*!?!?!? |

To add a little more to Bustopher Jones' character, they decided to give him a split personality and add in his mouse puppet which sang some Jennyanydot's lines towards the end of the song. Basically, Bustopher was talking to himself. |

But that's the beauty of it. Personally I like most of the school and dinner theater versions of CATS b/c it gives us a different look to the costumes and set. After all, it's not written in stone that the costumes HAVE to look a certain way or you can't do CATS. |

Did you guys airbrush your costumes?

I'm just not a big fan of some of the wigs and too large of a cast, but you guys had a fun and a good job. |

OOOOO Pretty cool look! Judging by how they look all similar and they seem to be thinking up some type of plan, I'd say they're mungojerri and rumpleteazer. I could be wrong though. It might be Coricopat and Tantomil....but they look kinda like trouble makers. |

Actually, it's Jellylorum (left) and Bombalurina (right). Very different costumes than the originals... They wanted to make Jellylorum comes off as a younger cat, like a granddaughter to Gus.
Here's Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser: http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k39/Candleshoe_2006/?action=view¤t=58.jpg&refPage=40&imgAnch=imgAnch58 |

Mungo and Teazer are adorable! I love Rumple's pearls, they look real. And I like the warmers too.
