Applause Looks very good! The beast's costume isn't very good though but that's my opinion. Very Happy
Sammy_beck

Thanks for your thoughts. So you like everything but the Beast costume then.
Thanks
Luc

Yeah, I really don't like the Beast's costume. The problem is that you can't see his facial expressions, which takes away 90% of the character.

I don't like the Witch either.

Or Maurice's invention.

Or the castle.

Or Lumiere. (costume)

Where did you do Beauty and the Beast musikal_geek?
Luc

I did it in a small town just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Why?
Sammy_beck

Just curious. I was wondering if you had done it in some huge theater with an amazing budget or something.
Sammy_beck

Just out of curiousity what could we have done better on this show so if we decide to do it again in a few years we can improve on what we already have.
The Drama Queen

Were these pictures taken during a rehersal or during a show??
Sammy_beck

The majority of the pictures were taken during a show there are one or two that were taken during a rehersal. Why do you ask?

She isn't that old. She's only in her 20's.

One of the towndspeople had on tennis shoes, so I was just making sure that wasn't during a performance. It wasn't right?

BTW, your LaFou looks really good, so do your Object costumes.

I'm really glad that someone liked the object's costumes because the costumer worked really hard on making them.

intresting enchantress!

I didn't really like belle's yellow dress... but I'm really really REALLY picky about the yellow dress and theatres typically don't have a broadway budget... but good job, i really liked the other things... your Belle looks alot like I think she would, if maybe a bit older but its okay.

I think that the costumes could have had more whimsy. It is a fairy tale, after all.

Some of the costumes were too 'stuffy'. Not fun enough. I think the color choices overall were a little too muted.

Also, I think the costumes could be a little more consistant.

I wasn't crazy about the Beast's makeup, but I definitely didn't hate it.

Chip's cart as well as Maurice's invention should have had more detail paid to them. They were both very plain and looked very cheap. I think even a creative paint finish would have made them.

The production looks pretty great, to me. I'm not sure how I feel about the set, though I didn't get a good look at it from the pictures.

I wasn't crazy about the beast..but most of the other costumes look pretty cool..I'm sure it was a fun production..I'm actually hoping to play Belle soon (auditions are at the end of the month)..but good work!..what role did you play again??
broadway_bound

i love the pictures! the belle does look a little old, but i love the fairy costume!

I was Silly Girl #1, a Napkin, and a plate.
I had a blast the entire time.
Our director was also our choreographer and our costume designer. She's so awsome.
Sammy_beck

I really loved this, I wish I could post more pictures but there not on the internet.
Theatregeeke

Your sets and costumes look amazing! The only thing I think is weird is the huge head on the witch, it looks strange and out of place.
TR_Wolf

It looks good, but what the hell happened to the old hag before she seemingly turns into Glinda from Wicked? She looks like that big monster thing from Spirited Away.

Gaston looks good apart from his tunic being shiny, makes it look like bondage gear.
AngelOfMusic867

The costumes are ok.

The only thing I REALLY have a problem with is Belle. I'm sorry but Belle means Beauty and a main theme of the show is that she's a beautiful but peculiar girl. If you're not the least bit pretty and can't be made pretty with stage make-up you have no business playing Belle.

Ouch. Don't you think you're being a smidgen harsh? I don't know, personally as someone who just played this part I wouldn't want someone to say that about me. It's hard to put yourself out there onstage, especially in such a large role. It takes great vulnerability. I would hate to think the actress who played Belle in Sammy beck's production read that.
Chevstriss

someone can be beautiful and very unphotogenic. Likewise, fashion models who photograph spectacularly for magazines can look like frightening waifs in the flesh.

You can't judge how someone looks onstage from photos.
