They look....normal. I had thought that the best Sweeneys were the ones who had a physical appearance/costume that made them stand out. (Cerveris is bald, Cariou had the poofy hair, LuPone has the torn fishnets...)

Ah, for the crazy Cariou/Hearn hair. . . I'm with you, Descartes.

Also, I prefer younger Sweeneys. Can't say why, I just do. He doesn't seem like an older man - he's to restless for that.

And why is Sweeney bloodied on his shirtfront? If you were cutting someone's hair and slit their throat, your chest would be covered by the chair, and the body isn't even facing you.

The blood spattering was just for effect, I think.

But yeah, I too love the poofy hair. This is a drawing that started life as my version of Richard III (whom I think was probably innocent of most of he's accused of, hence the noble/suffering expression), but I kind of lost track of the hair and he turned into the Demon Richard of Fleet Street.
